What does enduring love now mean after all these many years?
You’ve shared a thousand jokes and smiles, soothed sleepless faceless fears,
You’ve farted loudly in your bed, squeezed spots and picked your teeth,
You’ve both enjoyed experimenting, especially when he is underneath.
You’ve washed his skid-marked boxers, he’s seen blood drip out of you,
You’ve cooked your Country specialties when either one of you has flu,
You know just where to touch her, feel those shivers you adore,
You both know how to wind each other up and to ignore
The petty irritations of a life together lived –
That’s the magic mundane couple stuff and memories you’ll relive
When you’re old and worn together, when the years have trundled by,
You’ll say: I chose a life with you and time did really fly!
I’m glad you bought that drink for me in Yia Mass years ago,
I’m glad we danced, held hands all night and I’ve never yet let go.
That’s a smart way to still post despite of being away from your desk. I enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed it more reading it myself. Maybe because the initial shock is gone and I could now focus on the overall impression.
